Instead, put yourself in situations where you will be found.⠀ ⠀ “Getting Scouted” is one method to make it to the next level.⠀ ⠀ Personally, I used “player identification camps” to earn a college soccer scholarship and play with the National Futsal team.⠀ ⠀ Here are 4 ways to get scouted in soccer (football):⠀ ⠀ 1. Showcase Tournaments. Many countries will hold large tournaments where numerous teams come and scouts are invited to come watch. If you’re on the best team in your city, you’ll be more likely to attend these types of events. ⠀ ⠀ 2. Open Tryouts. Some professional clubs will hold tryouts for the public. There could be 100s of players attending. Scouts may only select 1 or 2 players; the odds may not be favourable but it’s an opportunity for you to be seen, gain some experience, and potentially make some connections.⠀ ⠀ 3. Combines. Organizations will put together tryouts for a group of players and invite scouts from different professional clubs. You could have 10-20 different scouts watching you at once. ⠀ ⠀ 4. Player and ID Camps. Attending player development camps and identification camps is another opportunity to be seen and build connections.
